Groundhog Day

Groundhog Day

February 2nd - 7am Thanks to Bill Murray and the "Groundhog Day" movie, every day is Groundhog Day in Woodstock! Come to the beautiful Woodstock Square and help us celebrate the anniversary of this family-favorite cinematic classic! Each year, Woodstock celebrates the movie, which was filmed here in 1992, with a chili cook-off, breakfast, dances, special showings of the movie, and a tour of filming sites, leading up to, of course, Woodstock Willie's prognostication. Come to Woodstock and celebrate a movie that has become a favorite of young and old and the community that Woodstock has always been. We’ve had visitors from as far away as Australia, celebrities from the Groundhog Day movie and local media and everyone agrees that this festival is a great way to shake off the gloom of Winter, if just for a few days. Visit the Woodstock Groundhog Days webpage for more information, including a walking tour of the filming sites. We guarantee, you'll want to return every year and RELIVE the magic that Woodstock offers, just like the movie portrays!
